Rainbow Community Care Association

RCCA history

RCCA was formerly known as “Top Hat Workers”. Top Hat Workers was set up in 1979 as an unregistered voluntary organisation, and provided arts and crafts activities for pensioners. Over the years the organisation grew in size, membership and ambition. However, that phase came to an end when the base from which the organisation operated ceased to be available. In 1997 Top Hat Workers became Rainbow Community Care Association and moved to its current premises in Dunlace Road.

RCCA mission statement

RCCA provides services that benefit the local residents of Hackney and the surrounding areas. This is with the intention to facilitate
social inclusion for marginalised persons, who due to poverty, ill-health, age, unemployment or disaffection are unable to access mainstream facilities. With a focus on the well-being and health of the individual RCCA plays an important role in improving quality of life alleviating social exclusion and assisting with community cohesion. All of our adult volunteers are selected from former service users. Have a look at our current activities page.
